> THE JOFFRE ROUTE

Just like the 'Ridge Route', the Joffre Route owes its creation to the Great War. Today, the Joffre Route is no longer a strategic route but a scenic one that attracts all kinds of nature lovers. It offers magnificent panoramas of the Thur and Doller valleys as well as the 'Grand Ballon', which is the highest point of the Massif des Vosges at 1,424 m (4,672 ft) altitude.

Between visits you will, of course, have the opportunity to enjoy a farm meal at one of the numerous farmhouse inns along the way.

After enjoying this hearty traditional meal, you'll be able to walk it off by heading down one of the many Club Vosgien hiking trails.
